Parrotlets' are a true parrot and are most closely related to the large Amazon parrots in both biology and personality. There small size, beautiful plumage, comical behavior and inability to scream (very loud) make them highly desirable pets. Parrotlets are true parrots, which mean they are intelligent, bold, curious, acrobatic, can learn to talk and are capable of developing a loving bond with their owners.
Less than 6 inches in length, parrotlets are basically tiny, green hookbills. They are also sometimes referred to as Pocket Parrots.
Parrotlets are unique in the parrot world and were virtually unheard of just a few years ago, now they are becoming one of the most sought-after companion parrots. They make wonderful pets if hand fed and placed in their new home just after weaning. Which is usually between 6 and 9 weeks of age.

you. Once you see one, they will wrap their little feathers around your
heart and then you've been had. You will want one of your own. They are
darling, comical, full of mischief, and besides this, most of them talk
